The spritzer is a simple, refreshing way to enjoy wine. With the holidays comes the beginning of orange season for many varieties. You can find deliciously juicy Satsumas in peak season through December which makes them an ideal pairing for a holiday red wine spritzer. Satsumas are also one of the sweetest mandarins making it a natural sweetener for a spritzer. Here is an easy drink to enjoy with friends and family this holiday season:
Orange Red Wine Spritzer
1 Satsuma squeezed per glass (you can use other orange varieties as well)
Sparkling water
Simple syrup to taste (about 1/2 a Tbsp)
Red wine
Directions:
Per highball glass over ice squeeze 1 Satsuma (or other variety orange), then fill 1/3 of the way with sparkling water. Add simple syrup to taste if you like. Fill remaining glass with red wine.
