I never need a reason to sip tequila, it is my favorite elixir. But since it is Cinco De Mayo, oh what a reason to celebrate how special this agave rendered creation is. If you need more selling points on why tequila is so special read The Best TequilasToday we celebrate the jewel of Jalisco with 3 delicious ways to enjoy 3 tequilas:

tequilacasanobleThe Casa Noble Ritual

When you think of tequila, visions of lime and salt may dance in your head (it certainly does in mine), but more on point with Mexican tradition is the ritual of sipping it with a chaser of sangrita. So what is sangrita? Why it is a delicious medley of grapefruit juice, orange juice, lime juice, tomato juice, jalapeno, and a touch of hot sauce. A blend of veggie and fruit goodness, so good in fact you can feel the nutrients running through your veins.

Sangrita

16 oz tomato juice

6-8 oz fresh grapefruit juice

6-8 oz fresh orange juice

2 oz fresh lime juice

1 serrano, halved, seeds and all (you can also use jalapeno)

1-2 oz hot sauce

Salt and pepper

Directions:
Combine ingredients in large jar (32 oz or more). Stir to combine. Let the Jalapeño sit in the jar for 1-2 hours, then remove Jalapeño. Refrigerate. Sip with Tequila or use to make a Bloody Maria.

After you sip the sangrita you sip Casa Noble Crystal which is a blanco tequila that is velvety smooth with citrus and fruity notes. It is a tequila you could sip all day on a beautiful beach in Tulum.

Here’s how you enjoy the Casa Noble Ritual:

Take one sip of Sangrita
Then a sip of Casa Noble Crystal
Finish with a sip of Corona Extra

Repeat.

The combination of these 3 flavors is quite enjoyable and may just replace your typical brunch buddy, The Bloody Mary.

Using Casamigos, MyScoop has a spicy, light margarita for you. This drink was inspired by a shot my husband received after he jumped 75 feet into a cenote. With all the groundskeepers gathered around, he received applause and a spicy tequila shot with chili pepper and citrus juices to celebrate his fete.

Makes 2 drinks

1/2 serrano pepper, halfed and sliced

1 lime, juiced

3 oz Casamigos Reposado Tequila

1.5 oz orange juice

1 Tbsp honey or agave nectar

Bittermens Hellfire Habanero Shrub (to taste)

Salt to rim (optional)

Serrano for garnish

Directions:

In a cocktail shaker muddle pepper with lime juice. Add ice, tequila, orange juice, honey, and Bittermens and shake. Strain into 2 glasses over ice garnished with salt and serrano if desired.
