Did someone say National Tequila Day? In celebration of the ‘legal’ margarita pitcher here are some recipes to quench your thirst and savor tequila’s most famous drink during these dog days of summer.

Love Frose, try it with tequila! The perfect summer party drink. There should be a warning label on this official drink of summertime that is so delicious and so easy to drink. For the smoothest frose blend in your Vitamix.

Frose-Rita Recipe

1 bottle rose, I chose Gerard Bertrand

1/2 cup tequila blanco

3-4 oz simple syrup

1/2 cup frozen strawberries

2 lemons, juiced

Directions:

Pour rosé into a 13×9″ pan and freeze until almost solid, at least 6 hours, I did this overnight.
Meanwhile, bring 1/2 cup sugar and ½ cup water to a boil in a medium saucepan; cook, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves, about 3 minutes. Reserve for blending frose.
Scrape rosé into a blender. Add lemon juice, 3-4 oz simple syrup, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries and purée until smooth. Transfer blender jar to freezer and freeze until frosé is thickened, about 30 minutes.
Blend again until frosé is slushy. Divide among glasses.
Garnish with small roses, rose petals or strawberries.

Peach season means it is the perfect time to sip on a peach margarita. These naturally sweet Southern delicacies means there is no need to add sugar!

Peach Margarita Recipe

1 cup tequila blanco

5 fresh peaches, sliced

1 lemon, squeezed and tested

1/2 cup Cointreau or Grand Marnier

Ice

Directions:

In a Vitamix or blender combine all ingredients and blend on high speed. Distribute evenly in 4 glasses. Salt glass rims if desired.

I love to eat blueberries because they are yummy and healthy but rarely do I actually enjoy them in a cocktail, until the other night when a childhood friend in town from Austin was visiting and the only fruit I had to experiment with was blueberries. With a plethora of tequila because I’ve been working on a ‘Best Tequilas’ article, fresh mint from the garden, and blueberries I decided to give a Blueberry Mint Margarita a whirl. The result, my friend said, “That’s better than a drink from a restaurant, I would order that any day.”

Blueberry -Mint Margarita Recipe

1 cup blueberries

15-20 mint leaves, torn

2 limes, freshly squeezed and tested

1 /4 cup simple syrup

1 cup tequila (any tequila works but for this a Reposado is nice)

Club soda

Mint leaves

Directions:

In a pitcher muddle blueberries and mint with lime juice, and lime zest. Pour in simple syrup and tequila. Fill a pitcher with crushed ice. Toss mixture back and forth between glasses. Divide mixture evenly between 4 glasses filled with crushed ice, top with club soda and garnish with mint leaves.

Add a little rose to any celebration with a Rose Margarita. This delicious libation is easy to batch up or serve individually.

3 limes, freshly squeezed

Club Soda (optional)

Rose Petal Syrup
